It’s our final session here at UCF and it looks like we have saved the best for last. We had a couple of stud stayover’s from the previous session, including MOP winner Stacy Thomas, to go along with some great new additions. We also had Melvin Davis, first sessions MOP, return for another go at Five-star along with his Slidell HS teammates. We once again have over 100 kids participating, and so far it looks to be one of our more competitive weeks. Hopefully the campers will bring the same energy and enthusiasm throughout the week.
The teams to beat, so far, seem to be the Coach Grammar led Suns and his workhorse Brian Williams; who at this point seems to be one of the most dominant players at this session. But you can never could out a Five-Star MOP so we will need to keep an eye on the Magic and Heat, respectively led by Stacy Thomas and Melvin Davis. It looks like this could come down to the wire, or Situation Tournament. The talent is plentiful and it should lead to a very tight race, leaving little room for error in each and every game.
This weeks session unfortunately will be without Strength & Conditioning Coach Carlo Voltolini. But instead we will have Station 14 run by Coach Perkins from Polk State. He will definitely be pushing these kids to another level and we will see if they can handle what’s ahead of them at the next level.
With all that said we now just sit and wait to see what Day 3 will bring. We are right on the cusp of playoff and the Orange & White Classic game. We will soon see who will rise above and carve their name in Five-Star history.
