The night definitely ended with a bang. The finals came down to the last seven seconds and the all-star game was back and forth, with the winner coming back from an 5 point first half deficit. There was no doubt some great basketball being played by our campers today. They worked through fatigue and back; with some of thew campers playing upwards of FIVE games today, to go along with 2 sets of stations and station 13. Each and every camper truly defined what it means to be a FIVE-STAR Camper.
The finals was truly an amazing game, jam packed with high intensity basketball. It was also filled with numerous highlight plays, including big blocks, dunks and spectacular dishes; but one play stood out amongst them all. It was a tip slam from Paul Jones, which came in the final seconds of the game with the score tied. He, literally, single-handedly, won his team the ball game with a huge offensive rebound.

The all-star game without a doubt lived up to the hype and expectation. This was a session with immense talent and the All-star game proved it. The Orange team had come out sluggish in the first half, which was reasonable after 3-5 games already played in the day along with 2 sets of stations. The White team dominated the boards and were out to an early 4 pt halftime lead. The Orange were able to stay in the game thanks to the senior presence of guard, Hasheem Moore.
The second half was a whole other story. After an inspiring halftime prep talk from Coach Johnson the Orange team came out determined on both sides of the court. Guard, Mike Gilmore was able to lock down talented guard, Jahman Delancy, in the second half. Frank Martin began to takeover on the offensive end hitting big shot after big shot in the fourth. It was a well-played game on both sides, with the game being decided in the final minutes where the Orange team received two big three’s from Mike Gilmore and Frank Martin, along with some huge buckets from Hasheem Moore.
